Kathryn Bernardo, who recently made headlines for speaking up against the ABS-CBN shutdown, has come a long way since her first mean comments reaction video with Preview in 2015.
Five years later, back and even better than ever, she dared to respond to her haters once more—this time, through her very own YouTube channel, Everyday Kath.
Comparing it to her first deep dive into the internet’s ugly side, it seems her haters haven’t much come up with anything new to call her out for.
The actress remained upbeat while combing through a new list of mean comments about her apparently annoying voice, “bad” acting, and supposedly unappealing personality, laughing off one jab after the other.
Notably, she also received a few brutal remarks attacking her by calling her "sakang," which pertains to her being bowlegged. A deep insecurity she’s admittedly harboured throughout her younger years, Kathryn finally addressed these negative digs after understandably attempting to ignore them in the past.
Her comeback? Well, she’s now unfazed after learning to finally love herself and her imperfections (and with the help of her boyfriend, Daniel Padilla, no less). We love a body-positive queen!
“Ngayon talaga hindi na 'ko naba-bother. Over the years natutunan ko nang tanggapin yung legs ko. Yes, it’s not straight...parang 'parentheses,' yun yung sinasabi nila.
Pero parte siya ng pagkatao ko,” Kathryn says. “Before, sobrang insecurity ko ‘to. Edi nagwo-work out ako para ma-exercise siya. And tatanggapin ko siya kasi, hello, hindi naman ako makukulong sa pagka-sakang ko. I love my legs, and si DJ love din legs ko!”
